Tea with a Bashful Gryphon-Freyja DK Polwarth-Ready to Ship
Along a rocky, windswept coast, a curious creature folds it's wings and raises a dainty teacup to it's lips. The creature's tail curls around it's back feet as it sits at a table spread with afternoon tea and scones while it's eagle eyes scan the coastline. The shy gryphon hopes you'll be friendly and share a cuppa with him...will you stop to have tea with a bashful gryphon?
Coral-y orange brightly contrasts with crisp white and soft sea glass green in this beautiful skein. It reminds me of conch shells and sea glass picked up on a beach excursion.
Freyja DK is a new luxury base yarn of 100% superwash Polwarth wool. Coming from New Zealand, the Polwarth sheep is a cross between a Saxon Merino and a Lincoln sheep developed in the 1880s. Rivaling merino for softness, this durable yarn keeps it's shape beautifully after multiple washings and wearings! Soft enough for garments, socks, and cowls, it's also sturdy enough for warm snuggly mittens, scarves, and homewares. Polwarth is a lovely luxury fiber without the hype of merino; but it's quickly becoming a favorite among handmakers and artists around the world!
No two skeins are identical: if you need more than one skein for your project, be sure to alternate rows to ensure variegation.
