Shrooms-Sock Blank-Mad Science Experiment
Yardage: approx. 420 yards/384 meters
Gauge: 7-8 stitches per 1" on US size 1-3 needles
Handpainted abstract sock blanks create exciting new patterns as you knit! This blank is single knit to produce a unique, random flow of color. With 75% superwash merino, 20% nylon, and 5% stellina, this luxurious fiber blend takes color vibrantly and beautifully. Strong enough to hold up to the abrasion of socks, it's also drapey and soft enough to wear next to the skin for cozy cowls, sweaters, and more. The smooth texture of this 4 ply yarn is a great canvas for any of the projects in your queue! Although it's perfect for any project, I especially love it for socks, shawls and fingerless gloves! For long lasting results, hand wash and lay flat to dry. Always test your washing instructions on a swatch!
This sock blank experienced a bit more color feathering while I was painting than usual, which is why you can scoop it up for a discount! Experimenting with my dyes for painting is always an adventure, with differing results; this blank will knit or crochet up beautifully but wasn't quite as crisp as I like which is why it's in the Mad Science Lab!
I use professional quality acid dyes to ensure vivid colors that will last. Please note that monitors vary somewhat and the colors may not exactly match the photos, but will be very close. No need to worry about tangles with this project...just unravel and knit directly from the blank!
