As the light half of the year fades away and the dark winter approaches, Samhain is celebrated. Traditionally recognized on October 31 in the Northern Hemisphere, this holiday (also called Halloween, All Hallow's Eve, and All Saints Day Eve) is a time for honoring those who have passed away, a time for spiritual reflection and transformation, a time for meditation and moving forward. This is the time of the year when the veil between the worlds is at it's thinnest and the darkness is explored and celebrated, appreciated for it's unique perspective and energy. What better way to mark the passing of the seasons than with this deep, inky black semi-solid color? From flashes of soft gray, to deep charcoal and jet black, this yarn subtly shifts from warm to cool and deep to even darker shades. The perfect colorway to balance a wildly variegated or speckled skein, this midnight skein is also beautiful and strong on its own. Created as part of the Fall 2017 collection to mark Samhain or Halloween, this yarn looks especially tantalizing in this Crepuscular set.

Gaia fingering is a 100% superwash merino wool. The 2-ply spin gives it a tight twist  that makes it strong and durable. The lustrous merino takes color beautifully, resulting in a glowing, rich saturation. This yarn is perfect for a variety of projects including socks, sweaters, shawls, gloves, hats, and baby clothes.

You can machine wash the Gaia fingering on a gentle setting with cold water and tumble dry on the lowest setting. To help your projects retain their shape even longer, you may want hand wash in cold water and lay flat to dry. Always test washing instructions on a swatch before washing the final project!

I use professional quality acid dyes to ensure vivid colors that will last. No two skeins are identical: if you need more than one skein for your project, be sure to alternate rows to ensure variegation. Please note that each skein is a unique work of art and may not exactly match the photos, but will be very close. I may reskein your yarn before shipping to avoid tangles if necessary.
