A dolly bird is described as an attractive but not particularly intelligent young woman. This yarn will supply all the beauty...and you get to supply the brains as you create a fabulous new project! In the swingin' 60s, dolly birds were the new, vibrant young models used by au courant designers like Mary Quant, popularizer of the minskirt, and Andre Courreges, father of futuristic space age mod looks. Twiggy, Jean Shrimpton, and Charlotte Rampling were all lovely dolly bird ingenues with long, thin bodies, boyish figures, big Disney eyes, and pale pink lipstick. You could find clothes like they wore at boutiques in London like Biba, Lord Kitchener's Valet, and Granny Takes a Trip. Warm blush mixes with peach, vibrant orange, several shades of pink and red to create a glowing, warm color. Youthful and energetic, this blended semi-solid yarn is a grown up pink! This color celebrates the joy, innocence tinged with psychedelic experimentation, and free love of the 1960s!
Tempting you into luxury, the Seductress Sock will spice up and brighten any project you choose to create! 75% superwash merino, 20% nylon, and 5% stellina, the silvery sparkle of this yarn makes it something extra special to treat yourself to. The twisted ply structure makes it strong enough for socks and high-abrasion projects but the stellina makes it luxurious and delicate for a dressy sweater or extra special cowl.
I recommend hand washing only in a gentle detergent and cold water to avoid damaging the stellina and ensure your project lasts. Lay flat to dry. I rinse these skeins several times to seal in the dyes so there won't be any bleeding, but because of the highly pigmented colors, I recommend using an old towel the first time or two you wash your project just in case.
I use professional quality acid dyes to ensure vivid colors that will last. No two skeins are identical: if you need more than one skein for your project, be sure to alternate rows to ensure variegation. Please note that each skein is a unique work of art and may not exactly match the photos, but will be very close. I may reskein your yarn before shipping to avoid tangles if necessary.
