Dolly Bird-Dyed to Order
A dolly bird is described as an attractive but not particularly intelligent young woman. This yarn will supply all the beauty...and you get to supply the brains as you create a fabulous new project! In the swingin' 60s, dolly birds were the new, vibrant young models used by au courant designers like Mary Quant, popularizer of the minskirt, and Andre Courreges, father of futuristic space age mod looks. Twiggy, Jean Shrimpton, and Charlotte Rampling were all lovely dolly bird ingenues with long, thin bodies, boyish figures, big Disney eyes, and pale pink lipstick. You could find clothes like they wore at boutiques in London like Biba, Lord Kitchener's Valet, and Granny Takes a Trip. Warm blush mixes with peach, vibrant orange, several shades of pink and red to create a glowing, warm color. Youthful and energetic, this blended semi-solid yarn is a grown up pink! This color celebrates the joy, innocence tinged with psychedelic experimentation, and free love of the 1960s!
I use professional quality acid dyes to ensure vivid colors that will last. No two skeins are identical: if you need more than one skein for your project, be sure to alternate rows to ensure variegation. Please note that each skein is a unique work of art and may not exactly match the photos, but will be very close. I may reskein your yarn before shipping to avoid tangles if necessary.
