Fire Swamp-Superwash BFL Aran-Mad Science Experiment
Yardage: approx. 180 yd./164 m.
Gauge: 4-5 stitches per 1" on US size 8-10 needles
When Westley and Buttercup run through the Fire Swamp in the Princess Bride, it's a jumble of bedraggled looking plants, mud, and mysterious terrain in varying shades of green and brown...much like this unique skein! An early prototype for Swamp Witch, the superwash BFL in this skein took the dyes in a unique and richly saturated depth that turned out quite lovely on the somewhat rustic spin of this hefty yarn. Rather than overdye it, I decided to sell it as is in it's original, unique state. Mossy green overlaps shades of beige and brown in this earthy colorway. With just enough yardage for a hat or small cowl, this single skein would make an excellent project for any gender or age!
100% superwash Blue-Faced Leister wool is spun into a lofty, bouncy skein that's soft enough for next to the skin wear. You can machine wash on the gentle cycle with cold water and mild detergent but be sure to lay flat to dry.
I use professional quality acid dyes to ensure vivid colors that will last. No two skeins are identical: if you need more than one skein for your project, be sure to alternate rows to ensure variegation. Please note that each skein is a unique work of art and may not exactly match the photos, but will be very close. I may reskein your yarn before shipping to avoid tangles if necessary.
